Dear Neighbour,

On October 27 we will once again go to the polls to elect a Councillor for Ward 36 to represent us at Toronto City Council. Since January, I have been door knocking in the ward speaking with residents and business owners to find out what issues are important to them in the upcoming municipal election.

As organizer for the Toronto Land Transfer Tax Coalition, we will be running a candidate in each of the 44 city wards in the upcoming municipal election. Our candidates are committed to phasing out the Municipal Land Transfer Tax. The majority of Torontonians, and 70% of residents in Ward 36 have clearly said that they oppose the land transfer tax and want it phased out. We will respect the wishes of Toronto voters on this issue. This tax is unfair and unwanted by Torontonians and has had a negative impact on the city's economy and jobs.

Residents are clearly telling me that they are not getting the representation they deserve at Toronto City Council. We can do much better. When elected, I will work vigorously to address the important issues I have listed below on behalf of the fine residents in Ward 36. Many of the issues listed below have NOT been addressed by the present Councillor representing the ward over the past four years. This is totally unacceptable.

We have had very poor representation. We need much better.

Here is the list of important issues of concern to residents and business owners in Ward 36.

1. Better transit - Improved bus service
2. A subway for Scarborough
3. Phase out the Municipal Land Transfer Tax
4. Lower taxes
5. Improved municipal infrastructure
6. Traffic / congestion
7. Street parking
8. City jobs for city residents
9. Leadership
10. Revitalization of Kingston Road

When I am elected, I will work with residents, business owners and community groups to resolve these important issues. Give me your support and vote on election day October 27.
